Current News

Dear AAPA Members in the Leadership Identification Program Database,

In the past you have asked AAPA to keep you informed of any AAPA volunteer opportunities. This communication is to inform you that we have just opened the committee/council service application process for the June 10, 2010 – June 10, 2011 leadership year.

If you are interested in being considered for 2010-2011 committee or council service (June 10, 2010 – June 10, 2011), please apply by March 15, 2010.  Appointments will be made by May 1. Committee and council descriptions and accomplishments may be found here.

Apply on-line by filling out this application.

We know that some of you receiving this message are already involved in AAPA leadership, but you may know of other PAs who wish to get involved. Please pass this message on to them. We appreciate your interest in AAPA volunteer opportunities and welcome any suggestions you have.

While flu illness has declined in many areas, we are only at the beginning of the traditional flu season, which lasts until May. The H1N1 virus is unpredictable and we may see additional waves of illness.

With your help, we now have an opportunity to get ahead of another potential surge in H1N1 and to protect millions of Americans. Participation in this outreach effort is voluntary. To learn more about National Influenza Vaccination Week and how you can get more involved, please visit www.FLU.gov/getvaccinated.

Attached are a letter from Secretary Sebelius (open) and a one-pager about National Influenza Vaccination Week (open). We encourage organizations to plan outreach activities, vaccination clinics, or other events during this week to communicate that the H1N1 vaccine is safe, effective, and the best defense against the flu and we ask that you share your plans with us.

Thank you,
