President: The President shall preside at all business meetings of the organization and of the Board of Directors. At the annual meeting he/she shall make a report of the year’s activities. He shall appoint all committees and shall designate a Chairman subject to the approval of the Board.
President-Elect: The President-Elect succeeds to the presidency at the conclusion of the first elected year. The President-Elect is a voting member of the 2009 board who will become the 2010 AKAPA President, then serve in 2011 as Past-President. The President- Elect is board liaison to the membership committee. (3 year commitment)
Vice-President: The Vice-President shall assume the duties of the president in his absence or upon his resignation or removal. The Vice-President will organize and conduct all annual elections. (1 year commitment)
Secretary/Treasurer: The Secretary/Treasurer shall maintain accurate records of the financial status of the organization, collect yearly dues, deposit into the organization’s account and pay all bills approved by the organization and record all receipts of those payments. The Secretary/Treasurer will be responsible for minutes of all meetings, communications, and notify all members of all meetings. (2 year commitment)
2 Year Board Member: The Two Year Board member is liaison to the scholarship committee.
1 Year Board Member: The One Year Board member is liaison to the communications committee.
Jr. House of Delegates: The Jr. House of Delegates attend the AAPA HOD meeting in spring, 2009 with the Sr. HOD, then become the Sr. HOD member in 2010. The Sr.HOD submits a report on the meeting to the President. This is a nonvoting position and attendance at AKAPA meetings is at the discretion of the President. (2 year commitment)
GENERAL:
• Attend all face to face meetings (generally at least 2) and Fall CME Conference
• Participate in telephone conferences (usually quarterly)
• Travel & lodging expenses to Board and HOD meetings are reimbursed
• $40/day stipend while on BOD businesss
Terms will begin on January 1, 2009, and end December 31st of the year the term expires.
The election will begin with President Elect and proceed as listed. If a candidate is nominated for more than one office, their name will be withdrawn from consideration for subsequent offices after they are elected. |
